90 Day Fiancé: Alina Kasha Officially Fired By TLC Amid Racism Controversy – Screen Rant

Alina Kozhevnikova won’t be a part of the Tell-All or any future episodes of 90 Day Fiancé: Before the 90 Days season 5 owing to her racist posts.
TLC has confirmed that Alina Kozhevnikova has been fired from 90 Day Fiancé after several racist posts by the Russian native from her social media pages were discovered. Alina started sharing her relationship with American man Caleb Greenwood on 90 Day Fiancé: Before the 90 Days season 5 after having met him 13 years ago on Facebook. Being the first little person of the franchise, Alina, who has the rare condition of diastrophic dysplasia gained fan attention. But things changed drastically for Alina after she reposted a photo she’d originally shared on her Instagram in 2015 which contained the N-word.
Backlash immediately followed but Alina denied that she’d used the racist slur and accused a blogger of editing the photo. But Alina’s shoddy apology that followed soon after didn’t help either as she claimed that since she’s not a native English speaker, she’d not understood the meaning of the word. Not only did fans not buy Alina’s apology, but they also had reasons to believe she was lying because another post in which Alina expressed her excitement about attending an “N-word party” from 2014 surfaced. A different IG post had Alina donning a sari with a caption insulting Islam from 2017 was unearthed along with another one where Alina gushed about her crush Hugh Grant but expressed disappointment at his future kids being “kinda Asian.

The four offensive posts and Alina showing no remorse for her actions whatsoever by behaving as if nothing has happened on her socials, offended 90 Day Fiancé viewers. But TLC has finally heard their requests and officially confirmed that Alina has been fired as per TMZ’s reports. “TLC discontinued filming with Alina Kozhevnikova following the recent discovery of her past social media statements,” a spokesperson for TLC has informed TMZ. “She will not appear on the upcoming Tell All,” the statement affirms. Additionally, Alina won’t be a part of any future seasons on 90 Day Fiancé. And starting next month, Alina will no longer appear on 90 Day Fiancé: Before the 90 Days episodes.
TLC does not tolerate racism or discrimination of any kind,” the spokesperson added. When The Ashley’s Reality Roundup mentioned that there were rumors about Alina getting fired from 90 Day Fiancé, they noted that editors were “scrambling to edit her out of season 5.” A source had told the blogger that producers are horrified that “this stuff keeps coming out” and how it just keeps getting worse. It appears that TLC doesn’t really do an “extensive dive” into a cast member’s background which is how most of such things go unnoticed during filming.
At the time, the blogger was unable to confirm whether Alina and/or Caleb were notified about being let go. The statement itself doesn’t mention Caleb’s name so it remains to be seen if he will still be retained as a part of 90 Day Fiancé: Before the 90 Days episodes or the Tell-All. However, as per @thefraudcast on Instagram, the Tell-All was reportedly filmed over the weekend and it’s suspected that Caleb and Alina were both uninvited. 90 Day Fiancé fans might have to wait for Caleb to respond to the news of Alina’s firing to find out his fate in the franchise.
